The name of your parser (e.g. "Invoice Processing", "Purchase Orders"). This appears in:
- The sidebar
- Parser lists
To change: Edit the Parser Name field and click Save Parser.
Changing the parser name does not change its parser slug, parser ID, or inbox email address. Existing email forwarding rules continue to use the same address.
Parser Description
An optional description of what the parser is for (e.g. "Processes invoices from vendors", "Extracts data from bank statements"). This helps team members understand what each parser does.
To change: Edit the Parser Description field and click Save Parser.
Parser ID
The Parser ID is a unique identifier used by the API when sending documents programmatically. You cannot edit this--it's set when the parser is created.
When you need it: If you're using the Process API to send documents, you'll use the Parser ID (or parser slug) in your API calls.
Tips
- Use clear names: Name parsers so it's obvious what they're for (e.g. "Client Invoices", "Vendor Bills")
- Add descriptions: Descriptions help team members know which parser to use
- Keep Parser ID handy: If you use the API, save the Parser ID somewhere safe
