Understand the ready-made document types available when creating a parser
Parser templates are the Document Processing Type options shown when you create a parser. A template gives you a useful starting set of fields and extraction settings for a particular kind of document.
This page explains what the template groups contain. For help deciding which one to select, see Choosing a Document Type.
Template groups
The exact list can grow over time. Search the setup screen for the document name you use in your business.

Custom document
Choose Custom document when:
- No specific template closely matches your documents
- Your organization uses a unique document layout
- You want to define the fields and tables from scratch
Custom document is flexible, but you should describe the fields clearly and test several representative files.
What a template gives you
After you choose a template, PARSER suggests fields and tables commonly found in that document type. For example:
- Invoice can start with vendor, invoice number, dates, totals, and line items.
- Bank statement can start with account details and a transaction table.
- Resume can start with contact details, work experience, education, and skills.
These are starting points. In the next setup step, remove fields you do not need and add fields that matter to your workflow.
Where to browse templates
1. Click Create Document Parser.
2. Enter a Parser Name.
3. Browse or search under Document Processing Type.
4. Select a template to continue to What to extract.
