Pause, resume, archive, reorder, or delete document parsers

Use the Parsers page to see every document parser, its status, creation date, and available actions.

The main parser statuses are:

  • Active - Accepts and processes documents.
  • Paused - Kept in the sidebar but does not process new work.
  • Archived - Paused and hidden from the normal parser sidebar.

Open parser actions

1. Open the team's Parsers page.

2. Find the parser.

3. Open its actions menu.

The menu can include Settings, Copy parser ID, Pause parser or Resume parser, Archive parser or Unarchive parser, and Delete parser.

Actions you do not have permission to use may show a lock.

Pause a parser

Use Pause parser when you want to stop processing temporarily but keep the parser easy to find.

Examples:

  • You are changing fields or testing settings.
  • A client workflow is temporarily inactive.
  • You want to prevent new documents from consuming credits.

Existing processed documents remain available. Resume the parser when it should process documents again.

You can also pause or resume the current parser from the bottom of Parser Settings.

Resume a parser

Use Resume parser to make a paused parser active again.

After resuming:

  • New uploads and imports can be processed normally.
  • Check documents that entered while the parser was paused.
  • Reprocess any document that did not start automatically.

Archive a parser

Use Archive parser when you want to keep an old or rarely used parser without showing it in the normal sidebar.

Archiving:

  • Pauses the parser
  • Hides it from the sidebar
  • Keeps it manageable from the Parsers page

This is usually safer than deleting a parser you may need again.

Unarchive a parser

Use Unarchive parser to show an archived parser in the sidebar again.

An unarchived parser remains paused. Use Resume parser separately when you want it to process documents.

Reorder parsers

Drag a parser by its reorder handle to change the order shown to the team.

Place frequently used parsers near the top and use clear names so bookkeepers and operations staff can find the right destination quickly.

Work with several parsers

Select parser checkboxes to show Actions. You can:

  • Pause selected
  • Resume selected
  • Archive selected
  • Unarchive selected
  • Delete selected

Read bulk-action confirmations carefully. PARSER skips parsers that do not match the action where appropriate.

Delete a parser

Delete parser removes the parser from normal use and it will no longer process documents. The confirmation warns that the action cannot be undone.

Before deleting:

1. Export any document data you need.

2. Download original documents you need to retain.

3. Export the schema if you may reuse the fields and tables.

4. Check classifiers, integrations, email rules, and shared upload links that point to this parser.

5. Consider archiving instead.

Do not delete a parser only to hide it from the sidebar. Archive it.
